I'm the fourth of eight kids, aunt to twenty-three, and, most days, something close to a second mom to my 2 year old nephew Noah, (pictured) who spends more time in my house than just about anywhere else. Family, for me, has never been one tidy unit. It's loud, overlapping, constantly rearranging itself, and somehow exactly right.
That's the kind of family I love photographing. Not the stiff, everyone-facing-forward kind, but the real one, the toddler mid-meltdown, the teenager rolling her eyes at her little brother, the grandmother who shows up to every single thing. I know what it feels like to be folded into a family that doesn't look like a postcard, and I know how much those imperfect, overlapping moments matter once time has moved on.
When I photograph your family, I'm not staging a version of you. I'm looking for the real one; the one you'll want to remember exactly as it was.

I photograph newborn sessions in your home, in the middle of your real life, during that sacred first month. No studio, no props, no perfectly arranged scenes, just your family, your light, and the smallest person who just changed everything.
