Are they not the cutest and most beautiful couple you have ever seen?! I mean seriously!!! I’ve had so many people comment after seeing a few of these photos posted on Instagram about how much they look like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle & Prince Harry!
Pooja contacted me after she saw my work on Instagram from a friend’s gorgeous Indian wedding she attended in Jacksonville, Florida. As a photographer, it’s always such an honor and blessing when your work is loved and admired. After speaking with her over the phone, getting to know them little and hearing about their love story, I knew she and Rob would definitely make the perfect Rebekah & Grace couple!
Instead of me trying to come up with a different and unique way of telling their story, I am going to allow you to hear it first hand from the couple’s words on their Zola.com wedding site.
How They Met
“We first met as a wide-eyed freshman at UNC through a mutual friend. While we were friends in college, Pooja didn’t know what she was missing. It wasn’t until years later when we reconnected in 2016 via a dating app–that will remain unnamed–that our courtship blossomed. Like a true gentleman, Rob swiped right first.”
The Proposal
5/23/19 “We had the best-laid plans for a trip to Hawaii (and one of us had plans for a proposal). Naturally, this meant the earth then decided to literally open up and start spewing lava all over our destination. “
“We refused to let this stop us, though, especially Rob for some reason. Instead, we traveled to Kona, and Rob surprised Pooja by popping the question along sandy cliffs overlooking manta rays. We spent the rest of the week celebrating our engagement among all of the beauty of the big island, with hikes along black sand beaches, snorkeling with sea turtles, sunset-gazing from the top of Mauna Kea, and amazing food–lots of amazing food. And yes, we saw the lava!”
I absolutely adore this couple and am beyond excited to capture their wedding this September in just a few short weeks.
